Cape Town is a great destination for landscape and wildlife photographers. The diversity of flora and fauna here is impressive, and there are many parks and reserves around the city.

On our photo tour we will photograph in the most beautiful and interesting places around Cape Town, drive along the most beautiful roads and visit some of the best vineyards in the southern hemisphere. We will shoot from observation decks with breathtaking views, visit the famous Cape of Good Hope, and see a colony of penguins.

We will visit amazing wine regions – Constantia and Stellenbosch, taste the local wine and relax in immaculate and picturesque wineries.

In the second part of the trip we will go to the picturesque Drakensberg Mountains, located on the border with Lesotho, we'll take pictures of stunning mountain landscapes and take a walk to a waterfall.

And then we’ll move to a cozy safari lodge, where in comfortable conditions we will photograph wonderful African animals: lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, many species of birds and others inhabitants of Africa.

The great thing about a safari in a private park in South Africa is that there are no large crowds of photographers. We will be able to get very close to the pride of lions, watch how they hunt, film their lives, and at the same time we will not be disturbed by other tourists and photographers.

Autumn in South Africa

Autumn in South African Republic lasts from about April to mid-June and is perhaps the best time for nature photography.

During this period, you can shoot colorful landscapes with bright autumn colors. By May-June, the savannah is filled with shades of orange and yellow. And of course, this is a great time of year for wildlife viewing.

In autumn you can take wonderful pictures at the Cape of Good Hope: the winds subside, the days are warm, and rain is quite rare. By May, the landscapes take on rich autumn colors. Sunlight becomes less harsh, so you can shoot longer at dawn.

Late May to early June is the best time to shoot in the vineyards, and is also the time when sea fog can penetrate Cape Town. For landscape photographers, May-June is a real gift.

ITINERARY

Day 1 (May 9)

Our tour begins in Cape Town, the most beautiful city in the Republic of South Africa, at the cozy AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront in a nice waterfront area. In the evening, we'll take a break from the flight and go out to dinner together at a local restaurant. We had a good reason for choosing this safe area as the base and starting point of our journey. From here you can quickly reach most photographic places, and in the evening you can take a walk and relax in pleasant environment.

In the afternoon we will visit one of the most beautiful and largest botanical gardens in the world - Kirstenbosch. There is an amazing collection of a wide variety of plants here. It's no wonder that Cape Town and its surroundings are famous for their incredible diversity of flora and fauna.

VICTORIA FALLS ADD-ON
Victoria Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world and one of the most spectacular sites in southern Africa. It is also one of the most interesting to photograph.

There are about 30 points from which you can photograph the falls, and each of them offers a slightly different perspective. Most of them are located frontally, but perhaps the most interesting from a photographic point of view are those located closer to the edges. At the viewpoint on the Zimbabwean side, there are steps leading down to a platform that offers stunning views of the falls from the bottom up.
Days 9 - 12 (May 17 - 20)

After the end of the tour in South Africa, we will spend the night near the Johannesburg airport, and the next day in the morning we will fly to Victoria Falls and check into a cozy lodge in close proximity to the waterfalls, and in the evening we will go to our first shoot.

The whole next day we will take photographs at the waterfalls from the Zimbabwean side and visit the most interesting and picturesque sites.

On the fourth day, in the morning we will go to Zambia to see and photograph the waterfall from a different angle, and in the afternoon we will return to Zimbabwe, where our tour will end. You can fly home or continue your trip across Africa to Namibia with our friend Mike Reyfman. There are convenient direct flights from Victoria Falls to Namibia.
