Iguazu. Before heading to the white dunes, we suggest taking a tour of Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. These are some of the most beautiful and photogenic waterfalls on the planet. The variety and power of the cascading waterfalls are astounding. And the wild jungle adds a unique flair to this place.
275 waterfalls, separated by cliffs and lush vegetation, stretch for 3 kilometers. They cascade down two basalt steps, each about 80 meters high, releasing 1,800 cubic meters of water per second! At the center of the falls, the water pressure increases, sending a roaring torrent of foam crashing down. The earth trembles from the force of the water, and the roar can be heard for miles. This incomparable display of natural grandeur and power was called "Garganta del Diabolo" (Devil's Throat) in Spanish by the first Europeans to witness it.

The Guarani Indians named this astonishing natural phenomenon "Iguassu" (Big Water).
This fantastic spectacle is enhanced by a variety of exotic birds and multicolored rainbows hovering in the sparkling spray above the lush tropical vegetation. Below, not far from the falls, lies a small island covered in rocks and trees. National parks in Argentina and Brazil are located on either side of Iguazu Falls.

We'll photograph the falls from both sides at different times of day and visit bird parks where we can capture colorful, tiny hummingbirds hovering over the beautiful flowers. The birds are specially fed here, and we'll be able to capture stunning shots by positioning our camera and finding the best angles.

And the amusing, colorful toucans will literally perch on your shoulders!

I T I N E R A R Y

Day 1. (July 9)

We meet at the Vivaz Cataratas Hotel Resort in Foz do Iguaçu, near the airport. We'll rest from our flight and then go out for dinner at a local restaurant in the evening.

Day 2. (July 10)

This day will be dedicated to the Brazilian side of the falls. We'll try to get to the park before dawn to capture the falls before the main crowds of tourists arrive.

After photographing the falls, we'll photograph toucans and other jungle birds along the banks of the Iguazu River in the bird park. The toucans here are accustomed to people and may even perch on your shoulders. This close encounter allows for some very vivid and memorable portraits of these incredibly friendly and photogenic birds.

Before sunset, we'll return to the park on the Brazilian side to photograph the falls in a different light.

After the photo shoot, we'll transfer to the Argentine side and check into a cozy lodge nestled in the jungle near the wonderful town of Puerto Iguazu, where we'll wake up to the sounds of birdsong and the forest. For dinner, we'll head to a local restaurant serving delicious Argentine cuisine.

Days 3-4. (July 11-12)

We'll spend the next two days on the Argentine side of the falls. You'll have the opportunity to observe persistent coatis and amusing capuchin monkeys, and we'll photograph hummingbirds up-close in the private park, Jardin de Los Picaflores.

The Argentine side of the falls is vast, with plenty of viewing platforms of all kinds. We'll have the excellent opportunity to photograph the falls at different times of day and from different angles. Numerous paths connect the viewing platforms throughout the park, and at times it seems like an endless variety of views awaits.

You can also take a helicopter ride over the falls.
On the evening of July 12th, we'll cross the border and transfer to the Brazilian side to our familiar hotel near the airport.

Day 5. (July 13)

On this day our tour ends and we head to Foz do Iguaçu Airport to continue our journey to the white dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses Park or to fly home.

The bird park on the Brazilian side offers a unique opportunity to photograph the vibrant local fauna from arm's length. The birds are completely unafraid of people and readily pose for photographs. We'll also arrange a special shoot in the hummingbird garden.
