Day 0. (June 15)
We meet at the Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela near the airport.
Day 1. (June 16)
Today early morning, we'll leave for Poas Volcano and after the morning photography session, we'll drive to the foot of Arenal, the most famous volcano in Costa Rica. We'll book into a lovely hotel overlooking the volcano. The hotel is located in the national park, away from civilization in the heart of a jungle. We'll see the volcano directly from the pool in the hotel or from the comfort of our own rooms. In the mornings, often curious coatis and various birds come right up to the hotel, so you can watch them near the houses, photograph, and even feed them apples.
We'll visit several photo locations where we'll take pictures of the volcano and its surroundings from different angles.
Day 2. (June 17)
This day we are planning to shoot the volcano, and if it is covered with clouds, we will be able to walk through the jungle and take pictures of a pretty waterfall. After exploring the surroundings and photographing the volcano, we can visit one of the local attractions, zip lines, and embark on the original canopy tour, an integral part of any Costa Rican trip. The canopy pathways or hanging bridges stretch from one huge tree to the other overlooking the dense forestry teeming with life. It's an incredible experience to fly over the jungle, and you surely need to try it. The Arenal canopy is particularly impressive thanks to the beauty of the surrounding nature and the distance between the stations.
During normal photography hours, we'll take pictures of the volcano and animals who live in the park. Here you can meet spider monkeys, coatis, sloths, various birds and butterflies.
Day 3. (June 18)
In the morning, after a short walk through the jungle, we'll head to the famous cloud forest of Monte Verde. It's an incredible place! We'll walk over the suspension bridges and observe the wild cloudy forest from above.
During the day we will shoot colorful hummingbirds in a special park. These tiny birds hover beautifully in front of the feeders so we can take some great pictures. In the evening, we'll go on a safari, where we'll meet the nocturnal inhabitants of the forest.
Days 4-5. (June 19-20)
We'll head to the Pacific coast, where you'll see the different "side" of Costa Rica: endless beaches, gigantic waves, cozy coves with azure water, and idyllic palm trees on the shore. We'll head straight to Manuel Antonio Park, where we'll try to photograph funny sloths, who usually hang from tree branches right above the heads, and mischievous monkeys.
There are amazingly beautiful beaches in the national park. And the hotel room offers fantastic ocean views.
Days 6-8. (June 21-23)
We'll spend the next two days in Costa Rica's most iconic animal photography spot. The local jungle of Corcovado Park is incredibly diverse and rich in all kinds of animals. For two days we will go to the jungle to photograph the most interesting and unusual inhabitants of the national park. Here you can find sloths, armadillos, ocelots, spider-monkeys, frogs, iguanas, birds and even a jaguar.
Day 9 (June 24)
Return to San Jose, flight home.
In the morning we'll head off to the local airport of Puerto Jimenez, where our tour ends, and fly to San Jose. You can take a taxi and visit the center of the city before your flight home.
