Costa Rica is a paradise for a lover of wildlife and nature. The country is so diverse that you can travel it back and forth and still find something you have not seen before. Every time you hit the road, you discover amazing places and fairytale-like animals that cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. It's incredible but Costa Rica is home to 70% of the world's plant species.

26 national parks cover more than 10% of the country's territory. Most often than not these are impenetrable jungles with their mysterious inhabitants, but there are also sleeping and active volcanoes, which make the landscape even more attractive.

Costa Rica has two beautiful coastlines, the Pacific Coast and the Caribbean Coast, which are strikingly different from each other, offering an opportunity to observe different kinds of species and varying landscapes.

On our tour, we'll get acquainted with the magnificent nature of Costa Rica with its rich animal world. We will try to cover as many different natural landscapes and their inhabitants as possible, visit the mountains, ocean, jungles, and rainforests.
We will photograph colorful birds, slow sloths, nimble monkeys, gaudy frogs, sprightly hummingbirds, and many other representatives of the Costa Rican fauna.

Volcanoes in Costa Rica are worth a separate mention. They are all different, and each is beautiful in its own way. We will spend two days exploring the vicinity around the Arenal volcano and photograph it at sunrise and sunset. We will also stop by and look into the crater of the Poas volcano.

This workshop is devoted to fine art photography but you can take your whole family with you. There won't be any difficult hikes. Moreover, each member of your family can find something interesting for themselves: either stunning Pacific beaches or dense jungles on the slopes of magnificent volcanoes. There will be an opportunity to visit the water park with thermal waters and ride a canopy over the trees. No one will stay indifferent to the beauty of Costa Rica.

ITINERARY

Day 0. (June 15)

We meet at the Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela near the airport.

Day 1. (June 16)

Today early morning, we'll leave for Poas Volcano and after the morning photography session, we'll drive to the foot of Arenal, the most famous volcano in Costa Rica. We'll book into a lovely hotel overlooking the volcano. The hotel is located in the national park, away from civilization in the heart of a jungle. We'll see the volcano directly from the pool in the hotel or from the comfort of our own rooms. In the mornings, often curious coatis and various birds come right up to the hotel, so you can watch them near the houses, photograph, and even feed them apples.

We'll visit several photo locations where we'll take pictures of the volcano and its surroundings from different angles.

Day 2. (June 17)

This day we are planning to shoot the volcano, and if it is covered with clouds, we will be able to walk through the jungle and take pictures of a pretty waterfall. After exploring the surroundings and photographing the volcano, we can visit one of the local attractions, zip lines, and embark on the original canopy tour, an integral part of any Costa Rican trip. The canopy pathways or hanging bridges stretch from one huge tree to the other overlooking the dense forestry teeming with life. It's an incredible experience to fly over the jungle, and you surely need to try it. The Arenal canopy is particularly impressive thanks to the beauty of the surrounding nature and the distance between the stations.

During normal photography hours, we'll take pictures of the volcano and animals who live in the park. Here you can meet spider monkeys, coatis, sloths, various birds and butterflies.

Day 3. (June 18)

In the morning, after a short walk through the jungle, we'll head to the famous cloud forest of Monte Verde. It's an incredible place! We'll walk over the suspension bridges and observe the wild cloudy forest from above.

During the day we will shoot colorful hummingbirds in a special park. These tiny birds hover beautifully in front of the feeders so we can take some great pictures. In the evening, we'll go on a safari, where we'll meet the nocturnal inhabitants of the forest.

Days 4-5. (June 19-20)

We'll head to the Pacific coast, where you'll see the different "side" of Costa Rica: endless beaches, gigantic waves, cozy coves with azure water, and idyllic palm trees on the shore. We'll head straight to Manuel Antonio Park, where we'll try to photograph funny sloths, who usually hang from tree branches right above the heads, and mischievous monkeys.

There are amazingly beautiful beaches in the national park. And the hotel room offers fantastic ocean views.

Days 6-8. (June 21-23)

We'll spend the next two days in Costa Rica's most iconic animal photography spot. The local jungle of Corcovado Park is incredibly diverse and rich in all kinds of animals. For two days we will go to the jungle to photograph the most interesting and unusual inhabitants of the national park. Here you can find sloths, armadillos, ocelots, spider-monkeys, frogs, iguanas, birds and even a jaguar.

Day 9 (June 24)
