Baikal is a picturesque lake with the largest reserve of the purest fresh water on the planet. This is the crown jewel of Siberia. This place is believed to be the concentration of power, the soul of Russia. The lake of Baikal is surprisingly good in winter. Endless ice with almost no snow makes you feel unreal. You will see a completely transparent ice of 1.5-2 meters in thickness with lagre cracks, forming sophisticated patterns.
Ice cave of Baikal
Every day we will visit new locations and take photos of ice grottoes and caves, shores with picturesque bays, mountain ranges covered with dense taiga forest, intricate drawings of cracks on the lake ice. We can take pictures from drones.

We will definitely have a picnic on the ice of the lake, try the fish soup made of the famous Baikal omul.

The Program

Day 1. (February 22)
In the Morning we meet at the airport of Irkutsk. The bus will take the group to the island of Olkhon. The transfer will take about 5 hours. We will stay in a comfortable hotel on the island, and on the same day, we will have the first sunset shooting.

Days 2-6. (February 23-27)
These days we have scheduled sunset and sunrise shooting of Baikal.
We will explore the surroundings of Olkhon island, explore the Small sea, visit the Big sea. We will take pictures of the numerous headlands, grottoes and ice caves. In autumn, when Baikal is stormy and the temperatures are negative, frozen ice waves form amazing unusual forms (landwashes), sparkling in the rays of the low sun.

We will take pictures of the ice caves, go to Hoboy Cape with the beautiful views of the Barguzin ridge and the entire Northern part of the lake.

We will take photos of amazing rocks in ice crystals, long cracks on the ice of Baikal lake and snow-covered rocks.

During the day we will have workshops, discuss the pictures taken and have free time.
