The autumn season in Iceland is a truly unique sight. There will be many amazing sights to behold, such as the flurry of golden coloring everywhere and the breathtaking Northern Lights. You will be able to see small ice flakes pour in to the rays of the setting sun, visit boundless lava fields, sandy black beaches, and even enjoy a hot spring under the vast and starry night sky. Experience the magnificence of Iceland with it's majestic volcanoes, picturesque gorges, Icelandic horses, and a myriad of other encounters than can only be found here.

The weather in Iceland is always changing, and there is a chance of rain, but the autumn season is one of the best times to catch the Northern Lights in combination with the beauty of the autumn colors. There are far less tourists as opposed to the summer, and you will marvel in the incredible landscapes of Iceland as they appear in all their bright autumn glory.

Days 1-2. (September 14-15)
Central highlands

The tour will begin at 16:00 when we meet at the Keflavik airport. From here will immediately leave for central Iceland, located in the Landmannalaugar area.

Keflavik - Hrauneyjar Highland Center (192 km)

There will be no plan for a sunset shoot on this day, but the road we will travel along is extremely picturesque and will provide you with many sights to see and shoot. If there happens to be a beautiful sunset during our travels, we will make sure to stop and allow everyone to capture its beauty

In the morning we will head to the mountains of Landmannalaugar, which shimmer in the sunlight a myriad of colors; from red and yellow to dark brown and green. It is in the mountains that we will take to the hiking trails, engulfing ourselves in the natural beauty that surrounds us. Make sure you bring a towel on the trek as there is a natural hot pool on the way back which you are welcome to take a swim in.

In the evening, we will go to the waterfall Hayfoss for some spectacular sunset.
Days 3-4. (September 16-17)
Vic

In the morning we will go to the lake edge of Veydivotn for the chance to shoot the freakish craters filled with water, and afterwards we will go to the town of Vic.

The central highlands are Vic. (172 km)

On the way to Vic we will shoot the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi and Skógafoss. In the evening, we take off to the beach of Dyrhólaeylocated in the lighthouse area.

The next day we will explore Reynisfjara Beach which is home to black sand beaches and amazingly photogenic rocks.

In the afternoon we will go to the picturesque Thakgil gorge, and in the evening we will shoot again on the beach of Dyrhólaey in order to catch some good lighting and produce excellent shots. However, due to the ever changing weather conditions, it is important to note that we may have to make adjustments throughout the trip and plans have the potential to chance slightly.
Days 5-6. (September 18-19)
Laguna Yekulsaurlown.

Vic - Lagoon (206 km)

In the morning, on the way to Laguna, we will drive to the Vatnajokull National Park and go to the Svartifoss waterfall. Here we ill take an hour walk to the waterfall, and wait to see some exciting alien landscapes. The water from the Svartifoss Waterfall cascades down for giant basalt crystals; a sight which is sure to amaze and wow.

Sunset shooting is planned on the lagoon of Jökulsárlón, where will shoot the blue ice that drifts along the surface of the lagoon. This gives us the opportunity to capture some one-of-a-kind photographs ad the ice gently reflects the sun's setting rays.

In the morning and the evening of the next day we will shoot both on the Lagoon and on the beach with black sand, where the surf takes ice from the lagoon. September weather in Iceland is changeable, and we will try our best to capture the ideal light. With luck, we may be able to remove the Northern Lights reflected in the waters of the lagoon and thus shoot some unique photographs. In the afternoon we will relax, watch and discuss the photos, and then head to the neighboring town of Hofn if we'd like.
Days 7-8. (September 20-21)
Lake Myvatn

In the morning we leave early for the sunrise at Cape Hofn.

Hali - Hofn (66 km)

After sunrise we will begin the long trip to the northern part of the island, over to Lake Myvatn.

Hofn - Mivatn (350 km)

During this long trip, if we have enough time, we will stop for an evening shoot by the waterfalls Dettifoss and Selfoss. Once we arrive in Mivatn we will settle in to the hotel for the night.

In the morning we go to shoot the waterfallGoðafoss and then Aldeyjarfoss, and will spend a generous amount of time here to allow you to explore and truly take in the spectacular sights.

In the evening, depending on the weather, we will go to the field of geysers or to the waterfall Dettifoss. After filming, it will be possible to bask in the hot springs of the Myvatn Nature Bathsunder the starry sky. These hot springs are similar to the Blue Lagoon near Reykjavik, but they have far fewer tourists and visitors so it will be a more private experience.
Day 9. (September 22)
Kirkjufell

In the morning we have the chouce between going and photographing the geysers, or we can explore the other side of the Dettifoss waterfall. We will then enjoy our breakfast, before congregating and heading to Kirkjufell.
